I am attracted to fractal patterns of nature, including those that are man made. Maps are a snapshot of social and cultural movements of humans, and I find it fascinating that they so closely resemble other radial or branching patterns in the natural world. When we observe our habits and bodies we are not really removed from nature at all, in fact to quote Cecil Balmond, "such seemingly random but structured pattterns strike a resonance within us, for our 'internalisations' may be built on similar ideas..."
